SBI PO 2020-21 Result: Different stages

The result is announced in the following stages.
SBI PO Prelims Result 2020/Phase I

On the basis of the aggregate marks of SBI PO prelims result and cut off, candidates have been selected for the mains exam. Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies have been shortlisted for the mains exam.
SBI PO Mains Result 2020-21/Phase II

The mains result is prepared based on the marks secured in the objective test and descriptive test. Candidates three times the number of vacancies are selected for the Group Exercises and Interview.
SBI PO Final Result 2020-21

The final result is prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in the mains exam and Phase III. While preparing the final result, the score of candidates is normalized out of 100. Marks secured by the candidates in the mains exam are converted to 75 out of 250 while the marks of Phase III will be converted to 25 out of 50 marks. Selection will be made from the top-ranked candidates in each category.

The weightage given to all the phases of the exam at the time of preparing the final merit list is as follows.

Normalisation of SBI PO marks

Normalisation is the common process followed by almost all the banking exams. SBI follows the process of normalisation to evaluate candidates’ performance based on the difficulty level. SBI PO exam is conducted in various slots as a result of which the topics, questions and difficulty level vary for each shift. The questions in one slot may be comparatively difficult from another. For fair evaluation, SBI normalises the marks scored by candidates in various slots of the exam. The normalisation is done using the equi-percentile method.
