IIT Mumbai Admission 2019

IIT Bombay (IIT B) offers degree and dual degree programmes at the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level. The institute offers programmes majorly in the streams of Engineering and Science. However, IIT Bombay also offers various Management(M. Mgt and EMBA) and Design programmes.

Step 1: Eligible candidates are required to qualify JEE Main. Top 2.4 lakh engineering aspirants who are able to clear this exam will be eligible for JEE Advanced.

Step 2: After getting through the first stage, aspirants will have to appear for JEE Advanced. Admissions to BTech programmes at IIT Bombay will be based on the rank acquired in JEE Advanced.

Step 3: After the declaration of JEE Advanced 2018 results, eligible candidates will be required to appear for JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) online counselling. The process typically commences in the month of June every year.

IIT Bombay’s BTech admission cycle starts from the first week of April with JEE Mains. The process ends in July after JoSAA counselling are over. Classes at IIT Bombay typically begins by the first week of August.

IIT Bombay International student admissions

For admissions to IIT Bombay’s BTech programmes, interested foreign/international aspirants need to appear for JEE Advanced.  The seats allotted to foreign nationals are supernumerary with a cap of 10% of total number of seats in every course.

Eligibility criteria for foreign candidates to appear for JEE Advanced:

  • Aspirants who are not the citizens of India (by birth or naturalized), do not belong to OCI category, and whose parents are not citizens of India and do not come under OCI category at the time of registering for JEE (Advanced) can apply.
  • Foreign nationals are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under the OBC?NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories as mandated by Govt. of India.
  • Foreign aspirants are not required to appear for JEE Main. They can register for JEE Advanced directly subject to fulfilment of other eligibility criteria.
  • Identity Proof: Identity proof of both the parents will be required in the form of citizenship certificate/Passport.

Iit Delhi

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is a public engineering institution located in Hauz Khas, Delhi, India. Established in 1961, was formally inaugurated August 1961 by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Minister of Scientific Research & Cultural Affairs. First admissions were made in 1961.

Admission through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)

Admission to all Undergraduate Programmes are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The eligibility for appearing for JEE and details about the JEE can be obtained from the JEE website.

Cultural Exchange Fellowship Programme

It is administered by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India. Scholarship holders are directly nominated by ICCR to the Institute. These students must also satisfy the eligibility criteria for admission under foreign nationals.

Casual Studentship

A student who is registered for an Engineering/Technology degree in a recognized Institute/University in India or abroad is eligible for being considered as a casual student at IIT Delhi. He/she should be officially sponsored by the Institute/University where he/she is studying. Such a studentship is granted to carry out research or to avail laboratory or other academic facilities or for attending a formal set of courses, for a maximum period of 6 months/one semester.


Iit Madras

Indian Institute of Technology Madras is a public engineering institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As one of the Indian Institutes of Technology, it is recognised as an Institute of National Importance.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras is an autonomous statutory organization functioning within the Institute of Technology Act. All the IITs are administered centrally by the IIT Council, an apex body established by the Government of India. The Minister of Human Resource & Development, Government of India, is the Chairman of the Council. Each Institute has a Board of Governors responsible for its overall administration and control.

The Senate comprising all professors of the Institute decides the academic policy of the Institute. It controls and approves the curriculum, courses, examinations and results. It appoints committees to look into specific academic matters arising from time to time. The teaching, training and research activities of various departments of the Institute are periodically reviewed to improve facilities and maintain standards. The Director of the Institute is the ex-officio Chairman of the Senate.

There are three Senate Sub-Committees, namely, Board of Academic Research, Board of Academic Courses and Board of Students to help academic administration and efficient functioning of the Institute. The Finance Committee advises on all financial policy matters while the building and Works Committee advises on matters relating to buildings and works activities. In addition, the Board of Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research; and Library Advisory Committee advises on matters of industrial consultancy and library matters respectively.
