The National Research Centre on Mithun (NRCM) is a premier institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Located in Medziphema, Nagaland, the centre focuses on research, breeding, and conservation of Mithun – a semi-domesticated bovine species native to Northeast India.
About the Role
NRCM is inviting applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a temporary project basis. The selected candidate will assist in ongoing research projects related to animal genetics, nutrition, and conservation of Mithun.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field and laboratory research activities as per project objectives.
Collect, analyse, and compile research data.
Assist scientists in preparing technical reports and research publications.
Participate in animal care, breeding programs, and farm-based experiments.
Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Animal Science, Biotechnology, Zoology, or related fields. Desirable: Experience in animal handling, molecular biology techniques, and data analysis. Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women (as per ICAR guidelines).
Pay and Benefits
Consolidated pay of ₹31,000 per month + HRA.
Appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
No additional allowances or benefits applicable.
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview. The interview may be conducted in person or via online mode. Final selection will be based on merit and performance.
