About the Role
CBS is inviting applications from experienced finance professionals for the post of Deputy Controller of Accounts.
This is a senior-level position responsible for managing the entire accounting system, overseeing budget planning, ensuring proper use of funds, and maintaining compliance with all statutory financial rules and audits. The role is ideal for someone who combines a deep understanding of government finance procedures with practical leadership ability.
Key Responsibilities
– Manage day-to-day accounts, including receipts, expenditure, reconciliation, and budgeting.
– Supervise accounting staff and maintain the accuracy of ledgers and financial records.
– Prepare annual budgets, expenditure statements, and utilisation certificates.
– Handle internal and statutory audits, ensuring timely responses and compliance.
– Implement sound financial controls and advise management on cost efficiency.
– Coordinate with funding agencies, banks, auditors, and institutional departments.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university (Commerce or Finance background preferred).
Experience:
At least ten years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or audit work within a government department, public-sector undertaking, or autonomous institution. Candidates with prior supervisory experience will be given preference.
Age Limit:
Maximum 50 years as of 1 November 2025. Age relaxation applies as per government norms.
Pay and Benefits
The position carries Level 11 pay under the 7th Central Pay Commission along with dearness allowance, transport allowance, and other admissible benefits. The selected candidate will also be covered under the National Pension System and entitled to leave and medical facilities as per institutional policy.
Selection Process
Applications will be screened by a committee based on qualifications and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The final selection will depend on overall performance and document verification.
