About the Organisation
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is India’s premier counter-terrorism law enforcement agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Established to combat terrorism, NIA investigates and prosecutes offences affecting national security and integrity.
About the Role
NIA invites applications from eligible officers for various deputation posts in investigation, legal, and technical wings. These positions require candidates with proven expertise in law enforcement, criminal investigation, and counter-terror operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise investigations and coordinate with state and central agencies.
- Prepare charge sheets, legal documents, and case reports.
- Manage forensic and technical evidence collection.
- Assist in the prosecution of terrorism-related and organized crime cases.
- Ensure compliance with NIA Act and procedural guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Graduate/Postgraduate degree from a recognised university in relevant disciplines such as Criminology, Law, or Forensic Science.
Experience:
Officers from Central/State Police Forces or equivalent with at least 3–12 years of experience in investigation, prosecution, or intelligence.
Age Limit:
Not exceeding 56 years (for deputation basis).
Pay and Benefits
- Deputation pay as per 7th CPC (Levels 10 to 13A).
- Allowances and benefits admissible to Central Government employees.
- Tenure of deputation: 3 years (extendable as per rules).
Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on eligibility and experience.
- Verification of service records and performance reports.
- Final approval by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
