About the Recruitment
DRDO, through its Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), has announced the Scientist ‘B’ Recruitment 2025 for talented engineering graduates and postgraduates in science and technology disciplines. This is one of the most prestigious opportunities for individuals passionate about research and innovation in defence technologies. The recruitment will be conducted based on GATE scores, followed by interviews.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant discipline from a recognized university.
Candidates with a Master’s degree in Science disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) are also eligible.
Minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA required.
Candidates must have a valid GATE 2024 or GATE 2025 score in the relevant subject.
Age Limit:
UR/EWS: Maximum 28 years
OBC (NCL): Maximum 31 years
SC/ST: Maximum 33 years
Additional relaxation as per Government of India rules for PwBD and Defence personnel.
Pay and Benefits
Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist ‘B’ (Group A, Gazetted) with an entry pay of ₹56,100 under Pay Matrix Level 10. In addition to basic pay, they are entitled to DA, HRA, transport allowance, professional updates, and pension benefits under the NPS. Approximate monthly salary will be around ₹95,000 (depending on posting location).
Selection Process
Shortlisting: Based on valid GATE score in the relevant subject.
Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview conducted by DRDO RAC.
Final Selection: Based on GATE score (80%) and Interview marks (20%).
Medical fitness and document verification before appointment.
