eligibility criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology, Forensic Science, or related disciplines from a recognized university. Technical posts require degrees in Computer Science or IT.
  • Experience: 5–10 years in criminal investigation, intelligence, or police work. Officers from central/state police or paramilitary forces may apply on deputation.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 56 years for deputation and 35 years for direct entry (as of 1 December 2025).

selection process

salary and benefits

  • Assistant Director: Level 11 (₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700)
  • DSP: Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)
  • Inspector / Sub-Inspector: Level 7–8 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400)
  • Benefits include DA, HRA, TA, NPS, and risk allowance for field duty. Deputation staff retain parent cadre benefits.
