The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is India’s premier recruitment body under the Government of India that conducts examinations and interviews for various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts. The Junior Engineer (JE) examination is one of SSC’s most popular national-level tests, aimed at selecting engineers for central government departments like CPWD, CWC, MES, and BRO.
About the Role
SSC has released the JE Recruitment 2025 notification to fill 810 vacancies for Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines. The selected candidates will be responsible for assisting in project design, maintenance, and construction work for key public infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

Supervise construction and maintenance projects under respective departments.

Assist senior engineers in preparing technical reports and cost estimates.

Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards at work sites.

Maintain documentation and reports related to government engineering projects.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:

Civil Engineers: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

Electrical / Mechanical Engineers: Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Freshers are eligible to apply. Candidates with prior government or private project experience may be given preference during posting.
Age Limit:

CPWD / CWC: Maximum 30 years

MES / BRO: Maximum 32 years

Age relaxation applicable as per central government rules.
Pay and Benefits

Basic Pay: ₹35,400 per month (Level 6, 7th CPC)

Gross Salary: ₹55,000–₹60,000/month (approx., including allowances)

Selection Process
The recruitment process includes the following stages:

Paper-I (Computer Based Test) – Objective type, 200 marks

Paper-II (Descriptive Test) – 300 marks
