About the Recruitment
NTPC has announced the recruitment of Engineering Executive Trainees (EETs) for 2025 through GATE 2025 scores. The selected candidates will join NTPC’s elite engineering workforce responsible for operating and maintaining state-of-the-art power generation systems. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech) with at least 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the relevant discipline.
Final-year students are eligible to apply provided they can produce proof of qualification at the time of joining.
GATE Requirement:
Candidates must have appeared for GATE 2025 in the relevant engineering discipline.
Shortlisting will be based on the GATE 2025 score followed by a personal interview.
Age Limit:
Upper age limit: 27 years (as on 15 December 2025)
Age relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
Pay and Benefits
Selected candidates will be placed in the E1 pay grade (₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000) with annual increments and benefits including DA, HRA, medical facilities, provident fund, gratuity, and performance-linked incentives. Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be confirmed as Assistant Managers.
Selection Process
Shortlisting based on GATE 2025 score.
Behavioral and technical interviews.
Final selection will consider GATE marks (85%), interview (10%), and group discussion/HR round (5%).
Medical fitness as per NTPC norms is mandatory before final appointment.
Training and Placement
Selected candidates will undergo one-year training at various NTPC projects or regional centers. After training, they will be posted across India at any NTPC unit depending on organizational requirements.
