About the Recruitment
NHPC has invited online applications for the recruitment of Trainee Engineers and Trainee Officers for various disciplines. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Trainee Engineer: Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/B.Sc. (Engineering) in relevant discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognized university/institute.
- Trainee Officer (Finance): CA/CMA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
- Trainee Officer (HR): Full-time two-year Post Graduate Degree/Diploma/MBA in HR or Personnel Management with 60% marks.
- Trainee Officer (Law): Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
GATE Requirement:
Candidates applying for engineering disciplines must have appeared in GATE 2024 and have a valid score in the corresponding paper.
Age Limit (as on 15 January 2026):
- Maximum: 30 years
- Age relaxation: 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD as per Government of India norms.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay Scale: ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000 (IDA Pay Scale)
- Additional allowances include DA, HRA, Cafeteria allowance, medical facilities, and leave encashment.
- Upon confirmation, candidates may be promoted to E3 Grade after completion of one year of probation.
- Selected candidates will also be enrolled in the National Pension System (NPS).
Selection Process
- For Trainee Engineers: Based on GATE 2024 scores followed by document verification and medical examination.
- For Trainee Officers (Finance/HR/Law): Based on marks obtained in CA/CMA/PG/MBA/LLB and relevant professional experience (if applicable).
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview, if required.
