About the Recruitment
ONGC invites applications from fresh graduates and diploma holders for its Graduate Apprentice Trainee program 2025 under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. This nationwide recruitment aims to provide practical industrial exposure and skill enhancement to young professionals in technical and non-technical disciplines. Selected candidates will undergo structured on-the-job training at ONGC’s operational units, plants, and offices across India.

  • Mechanical Engineering – 650 Posts
  • Electrical Engineering – 500 Posts
  • Civil Engineering – 300 Posts
  • Petroleum Engineering – 200 Posts
  • Instrumentation Engineering – 150 Posts
  • Computer Science / IT – 250 Posts
  • Accounts / Finance / HR / Law – 250 Posts
  • Other Technical and Support Trades – 1,200 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate Apprentice: Full-time Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.A./B.Sc./B.Com) from a recognised university or institute.
  • Diploma Apprentice: Full-time Diploma in relevant discipline from a State Technical Board/University.
  • ITI Apprentice: Trade Certificate in the relevant field from NCVT/SCVT recognised institutions.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 10 December 2025)
  • Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), 10 years for PwBD candidates.

Stipend and Benefits
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per Apprenticeship Rules. They will gain hands-on industrial experience in oil and gas operations, maintenance, logistics, and project management. The apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment but provides valuable exposure that enhances employability in both public and private sectors.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting based on academic merit (qualifying examination marks).
  • Document verification for shortlisted candidates.
  • Final selection subject to medical fitness as per ONGC norms.
    No written test or interview will be conducted.

  • Result Announcement: 20 December 2025
  • Apprenticeship Training Start Date: 1 January 2026

  3. Read the detailed advertisement carefully.
  4. Register yourself on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal or NATS portal as applicable.
  5. After registration, log in to ONGC’s apprentice application page and fill out the form.
  6. Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, and educational certificates.
  7. Submit the form online before 10 December 2025.
  8. Print the confirmation page for record purposes.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates can apply for only one trade/location.
  • Those already undergoing or having completed an apprenticeship are not eligible.
  • ONGC reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process.
