eligibility criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Candidates for Flight Operations Inspector roles must hold a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • Experience: 5–10 years of experience in aviation safety, aircraft maintenance, or airworthiness inspection. Experience with government aviation departments, airlines, or MROs will be preferred.
  • Age Limit: Maximum 56 years for deputation and 35 years for direct recruitment (as on 31 December 2025). Relaxation applies as per government rules.

  • Monitor compliance with DGCA’s Civil Aviation Requirements (CARs) and ICAO standards.
  • Approve maintenance schedules and ensure airworthiness certification of aircraft.

selection process

  1. Application Screening: Candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualifications and experience.
  2. Interview / Assessment: Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews conducted by DGCA’s selection board.
  3. Final Appointment: Based on merit, medical fitness, and verification of credentials.

salary and benefits

  • Deputy Director: Level 12 (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200)
  • Assistant Director / Senior Officer: Level 10–11 (₹56,100 – ₹2,08,700)
  • Flight Operations Inspector: Fixed pay up to ₹2,50,000 per month depending on experience.
  • Additional benefits: DA, HRA, TA, medical allowance, NPS, and leave entitlements. Deputation officers will receive pay as per current service rules.
