First of all, Dehradun Sahakari Bank was established in 1924 and on 25th March 1924 District Co-operative Bank was registered under the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Act 1912. Banks headquarter was built at Kachari Ahata, Dehradun. Initially, the banks main branch was opened in Kachhari Aahta only. After that in 1962, the banks second branch was established in Vikas Nagar. Currently, 19 branches of the bank are working in the entire district. Under which 39 preliminary agricultural credit cooperative societies are employed. Rural Savings Centers are also being operated by the committees for Rural and Farmers.

District Dehradun Geographical location is of plains and mountainous areas, according to which the bank is providing its services in far-flung and vulnerable areas through its branches. Different loan schemes are run by the bank for small and long term loans to the farmer. At the same time, the loan schemes for consumer, vehicle, housing and business are run by the bank. Under the scheme for packs development for NABARD, PACS Developement Cell has been set up in the bank by which proper development of packs is being done.

Computerization was started from 2006, with the modern times running by the bank. In the year 2010, all the branches and headquarter computerized had become the first co-operative bank in the state, in the same year, in 2013, the bank started its branches all over BCB Has gained the distinction of bringing in the system. At present, all the work done in the bank is done under the CBSE system. The facility of LPG Gas subsidy is being provided in the Bank under the ATM Card, Mobile SMS, RTGS / NFFT and DBTL scheme of the Government.
