What We€™re Looking For
A Product Sales Specialist that is located in Chennai, India. This role is a contract employee for an American company supporting a partnership for manufacturing operations within India.
What is a Product Sales Specialist?
A Product Sales Specialist will provide technical and applications support to various customers in order to promote sales of Level Instrumentation Products in Indian Market. Develop new customers through direct sales calls and support existing sales channels including the efforts of Regional Sales Manager / Product Development Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work to identify and develop new customers and applications.
2. Participate in on-site technical and commercial meetings with prospects and customers.
3. Provide market and application information for the defined markets.
4. Conduct technical product seminars and training at key and prospective customer accounts.
5. Review and analyze customer requirements through blueprints, plans or other information to develop and prepare a detailed technical proposal which describes: type of equipment needed, price, delivery time and commercial terms for the described product.
6. Review proposals for compliance with company standards and contract language.
7. Provide technical, installation and troubleshooting consultation with customers, sales and other Company departments.
8. Market/sell products to the End Users, EPC & Engineering Consultants, primarily within Oil & Gas and Power Generation and product related market segments.
9. Identify key prospects, complete needs assessments, generate and qualify leads.
10. Develop sales plans to meet / exceed established quotas.
11. Provide sales forecast and report sales activities weekly.
12. Participate in promotional events where prospective customers meet €“ conferences, trade shows, speakers€™ bureaus & industry relations programs.
13. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
14. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
15. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
16. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
17. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
18. All other job-related duties assigned.
Physical and Technical Environment
€ Candidate shall be physically fit and exposure to harsh Industrial environment is required. € Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. € Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. € Ability to routinely travel, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. € Must respond to changing requirements and working conditions. € Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards. € Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis. Separate exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards. € May works above the rafters, in mechanical rooms, uses ladders, and may be subject to dirt, noise, electricity and extreme temperatures. € Travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints. € Required to work remotely.
Required Experience
€ Three to four year€™s sales experience through direct sales channels preferred. €Related Process Level Instrumentation product experience preferred.€ Strategic, high energy professional. € Demonstrated ability to organize and manage within the constraints of multiple priorities. € Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where growth and professionalism will be achieved largely through creativity, integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between strategic and tactical skills and a willingness to €œroll up one€™s sleeves.€ €Speak Hindi & Regional Language € Ability to travel 70% of the time with frequent overnight travel requirements. € Successful passing of a routine motor vehicle report.
Required Education
€ Bachelor€™s degree required in Engineering or Technical or equivalent work experience. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
