What is UGC NET ?
The National Eligibility Test, also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is a test to determine eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship for Indian nationals. It aims to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in teaching professions and research.
Updated NTA UGC NET Syllabus for Paper 1
The main objective is to assess the teaching and research capabilities of the candidates. Therefore, the test is aimed at assessing the teaching and general/research aptitude as well as their awareness. They are expected to possess and exhibit cognitive abilities. Cognitive abilities include comprehension, analysis, evaluation, understanding the structure of arguments and deductive and inductive reasoning. The candidates are also expected to have a general awareness and knowledge of sources of information. They should be aware of the interaction between people, environment and natural resources and their impact on quality of life.

NTA UGC NET/JRF Exam 2018
UGC NET application process will be closed on 30th Sept 2018. The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to select the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and the award of Junior Research Fellowship. As per a recent announcement by the HRD Ministry, the examination will now be conducted by the newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA). In fact, UGC NET 2018 December session would be the first exam of the agency.
NTA UGC NET December 2018 Exam Dates: UGC NET December 2018 registration process has been started from 1st September 2018 and will continue till 30th September 2018. NTA has announced exam schedule for December 2018 session UGC NET Exam. According to NTA, the exam is scheduled to be held between 9th to 23rd December 2018.
Till now, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been conducting the examination. The UGC NET 2018 July Session examination conducted on 8th July was the last exam conducted by CBSE. CBSE also conducts other national-level competitive exams such as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET Exam), JEE Main Exam, Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET Exam). The NTA will also conduct NEET and JEE Main exams from the year 2019. The HRD ministry has not mentioned anything about the CTET examination yet.
UGC NET SYLLABUS Paper 2
- UGC NET Paper 2 Syllabus: Paper 2 will be subject based. A total of 100 subjects will be covered in the UGC NET Exam. Candidates will have to select one subject for the NET Exam preferably the subject of their post-graduation.

UGC NET Cut Off 2018-2019
The minimum marks that a candidate need to be score in UGC NET to be considered for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor in paper-I, paper-II is given below:
UGC NET Exam Pattern 201 8-2019 (Revised)
Candidates can check the CBSE UGC NET 2018-2019 exam pattern which tells about the number of questions, marking scheme, type of questions, duration of the exam and other details related to the exam.
The test will consist of two papers.
Exam Mode: Examination will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates have to mark their responses on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet.
Number of Questions: Total 150 questions will be asked in NET which are divided into 2 papers. Paper-I will have 50 questions and Paper-II will have 100 questions. All questions are compulsory to attempt.
Type of Questions: All the papers will have objective type questions.
Subjects: The Paper-I consists of General Aptitude Questions and the Paper-II contains questions related to the subject selected by candidates.
Medium of Paper: Candidate can choose the paper medium either Hindi or English. Choice for paper medium can be exercised at the time of filling the form.
Exam Duration: Paper-1 will be of 1 hour while Paper-II will be of 2 hours.
Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will carry 2 marks.
Negative Marking: CBSE is not following negative marking scheme in UGC NET.

CBSE UGC NET Syllabus 2019
Candidates should be totally aware of the UGC NET syllabus before appearing for the exam. As mentioned earlier the NET exam will consist of 2 papers, the UGC NET Paper 1 will be a common paper while Paper 2 will be subject based. Some details of the UGC NET syllabus are mentioned below.
