IIST 2019 Admission Notification has been released. IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) is an autonomous institutions which offers education in the field of space sciences, space technology and space applications. IIST did not organize any entrance test to offer admission in UG, PG and other courses.

Application Fee:

  • Students can pay the application fee via online mode through SBI collect.
  • The application fee will be non-refundable.
  • The application fee for UG and PG courses is mentioned below:

Eligibility for UG Courses (B.Tech):

  • Candidates must be an Indian Nationals.
  • Students must have born on or after 1st October 1994 (for general & OBC) and 1st October 1989 (for reserved categories).
  • Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent exam with PCM subjects from any recognized board.
  • In the qualifying exam, students should have obtained at least 75% (65% marks for reserved categories).
  • Candidates also have qualified the JEE Main & JEE Advanced 2019 examination.

Eligibility for PG Courses:

  • Candidates should be an Indian citizen.
  • The maximum age limit is 32 years as on 30th April 2018 for general candidates. For SC/ST and PD candidates age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India orders.
  • Candidates must have qualified BE, B.Tech, MS, M.Sc. or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for reserved categories).
  • Valid score card of GATE/JEST/UGC NET exam in the relevant field.

IIST Cut Off 2019

Students will be able to check the IIST cut off through the website. IIST will release two types of cut off, i.e. eligibility cut off and admission cut off.

Firstly, candidates have to achieve marks as per the cut off released on the basis of entrance test. After that, admission cut off will be published on the basis of rank, category, performance in interview/admission, availability of seats, etc.

How To Get Admission in iist

IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 – Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology has released the notification related to the IIST B.Tech 2019 admission. Registrations for IIST B.Tech Admission 2019 will be open from May 22 in online mode. The last date to register for admission to IIST B.Tech 2019 will be June 5. The authorities will release the official brochure on May 7, 2019.

Percentage Marks in the Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent)

  • Candidates belonging to the general category must have scored at least 75 % aggregate marks
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have scored at least 65% aggregate marks
  • The subjects that will be taken into account for calculating the aggregate marks are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, any language and any other subject

JEE Advanced

  • Candidates must clear the JEE Advanced exam.
  • General category candidates must score at least 20% marks in JEE Advanced i.e 72 marks out of 360 and at least 6 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
  • OBC-NCL candidates must score at least 65 marks out of 360 marks and 5 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
  • SC, ST & PD candidates must score at 10% marks i.e 36 marks out of 360 and 3 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects.

Reservation Criteria

The number of seats reserved for different categories is:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
  • Persons with Disabilities (PD): 5% (Horizontal Reservation
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27%

Candidates will be able to access IIST B.Tech 2019 application form in online from May 22 to June 5. All of the required details have to be submitted by the candidates to be successfully registered for the admission procedure. Payment of the required fee also has to be done by the candidates.

Steps to Fill IIST B.Tech 2019 Application Form 

  • Registration – The candidates will have to register using their JEE Advanced 2019 roll number and date of birth.
  • Filling of Required Information – Next, the candidates will have to fill their personal and academic information such as name, address, JEE Advanced and JEE Main obtained marks and more.
  • Payment of Application Fee – After checking all of the submitted details, the candidates have to pay the application fee. The payment has to be done in online mode through SBI-Collect (non-refundable).
  • Choice Filling – After logging in using their IIST registration number and password. The candidates will have to select their choices of courses. The selection should be done in the order of preference. It is important for the candidates to select their preference otherwise they will not be able to participate in the admission process.

iist Placements

The Placement Cell of IIST continually liaisons with industry, R&D organizations, and management organizations, with the foresight of Training, Career-Guidance, Internship/Project, and Campus Placements. The Placement Cell works closely in line with the policies of the Institute and tries to coherently match the interests of students with an appropriate job profile.

The Placement Cell channelizes feedback from Industry, R&D Organizations and Management Organizations regarding academic programmes, to the Institute. The Placement Cell continually functions to safeguard the interest of the students and also endeavors to be a part of their safe and secure future.

At IIST, the internship period for both B.Tech. and M.Tech. programmes usually lasts for two months, tentatively from May to July, every year. However, internships which require more than two months, for select M.Tech Programmes, can be worked out in line with the Institute policies and guidelines.

Companies, R & D Organizations have to register with the Placement Cell for the purpose of placement and internships.
