NDA Eligibility Criteria: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) would conduct the Examination of the NDA (National Defence Academy) & ND (National Defence) twice in a year to employ the aspirants in Army, Navy and Air Force wings of National Defence Academy. So in order to provide all eligibility conditions to the candidates we are updating these details. NDA eligibility conditions of the UPSC NDA & NA exam are given below.

1. Nationality: applicants must Indian nationality such as
a candidate must be either is a
(i). A citizen of India, or
(ii). A subject of Nepal, or
(iii). A subject of Bhutan, or
(iv). A Tibetan person in exile who came to India before the 01 January 1962 with the meaning of permanently settling in India, or
(v). A Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, the United Republic of Malawim Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility which was issued by the Government of India.

2. Age: applicants must be only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1997 and not later than 1st July 2000 are eligible.
Sex: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

3. Educational Qualifications:
For Army wing of National Defence Academy: applicants must have passed 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or its equivalent examination by a State Education Board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: applicants must have passed 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or from any recognized university.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under 10+2 Pattern of School Education or its equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2016.

Note: A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.

NDA Selection Procedure Details: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts NDA (National Defence Academy) & NA (National Academy) Exam-I. The candidates who are eligible apply through online. Minimum Educational Qualification is 12th Class pass in 10+2 Pattern. The selection process is based on Written Test & SSB Interview. The details are as follows.

Selection Procedure:
UPSC would employ the candidates for NDA (National Defence Academy) exam in two stages.
Written Examination
Personal Interview

Written Examination: exam paper will constitute 2 subjects, Math’s and general ability test and each subject is given the time limit 2 ½ Hours, such as maximum marks for Math’s is 300 and general ability is 600. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers of Mathematics and Part B of General Ability Test will be set bilingually such as paper would be in Hindi as well as English. The Commission has carefulness to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination.

Personal Interview: Qualified aspirants in the written examination will be called for personal interview which was conducted by the SSB (Services selection board). For Army, Navy Wings & 10 +2 Entry Scheme candidates need to undergo intelligence test and personality test, but for Air Force Wing the candidates must attend a Pilot Aptitude Test. Where personal interview consists both intelligence and personality test.

Intelligence and Personality Test: SSB selection procedure consists of two stages such as selection process-stage I and stage II. Only those aspirants who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:
a. Stage I consist of officer intelligence rating (OIR) tests is picture perception description test (PP&DT). The aspirants will be shortlisted based on blend of performance in QIR Test and PP and DT.
b. Stage II Consists of personal interview, group testing officer tasks, psychology tests and the conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days.

N.B: Air force specified for pilot aptitude test only once for the aspirants. The test selected candidates will go to every following personal interview.
