About Govt College Barsar Hamirpur

Government Degree College would be opened at Barsar and Rs. five crore sanctioned for college complex besides medical college each at Hamirpur and Mandi districts to make the educationally most progressive district in the State. This was revealed by Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, while addressing a mammoth public meeting at Byar, in Nadaun assembly Constituency in District Hamirpur.

Chief Minister said that his Government was considering opening of Sub-Divisional Office, Civil in Baoranj in Mewa Segment in the near future. He said that he had also laid foundation-stone of Rs.68 crore, the most expensive Water Supply scheme. Bamsan- Lagawati for Bamson and Mewa segments which would be completed on priority.

Virbhadra Singh said that the State Government was spending Rs two crore as money orders fee to deliver the social security pension to all eligible persons which numbered at 2,12,250 with an annual expenditure of Rs. 54 crore as the State Government was spending highest 48 percent of its annual budget on social welfare sector. He said that all eligible would be granted pension and Panchayati Raj Institution needed to play vital role in selecting the deserving families. He said that funds were no constraint in delivering social justice to all in the State. He said that the eligible families needed to be delivered the benefits of various social welfare and poverty attention alleviation programmes so that the poorest of the poor were given priority in their socio-economic upliftment.

Chief Minister said that his Government would provide two biswa of land in rural and one biswa in urban area to the houseless families in the State. He said that his government would provide all assistance to such families in helping them so that no family was lift homeless in the State.

Chief Minister said that Himachal was one of the selected few States where over- all development took place and many milestone established. He said that the State had only 331 educational Institution in 1948 when Himachal Pradesh emerged as a separate political unit which increased to over 16,000, road length was only 228 kms which now measured over 27,000 kms, only 9 villages was electrified while all the cences villages got electrified in 1987-88 and the per capita income which was only Rs 240 had been evaluated at Rs 30,138 which was much above the national average and most of the State of the country.
