INFOSYS PAPER ON 27th JULY AT HYDERABAD
hi friends.......this is Raghuvaran from Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology, I am from EEE branch.......we had INFOSYS placement test in our college on 27th july.....
aptitude consist two papers
1) Reasoning
2) Verbal
REASONING was very...easy one
it consist of 30 questions 40 min time
1) 6--questions logical conclusions(syllogism)......R.S Agarval verbal nd non-verbal book is very very useful......practice all 9 types
2) 5 --que DATA SUFFICIANCY........little basics in school mathematics is enough.....
eg: find area of quadrilateral...?
1) diagnal length AC=25cm
2) it is isoceles
3) 10 que puzzles test....two long puzzles were given....one is easy(seating arrangement).......one is tough......
4) data interpretation...easy one.......r,s agarval is enough....it is a tabular problem......
do easy ones first like data suff......, syllogism..... cut off was may be 18.....no nagative marking........
VERBAL paper was very...... lengthy.................
be fast in reading answer as many as u can.......clearing apptitude depends on ur perfomance in verbal paper........
it has 40 que and 35 min time.....cut off is 22.....
1)10 que.... two very lengthy comprehensions.......better do them at d end....they are easy but lengthy.......
2) 10 que......replacing underlined phase with correct one...read fast......these r easy in dis section........
3)7 que......... drawing conclusions from passage.....small passages with one que for passage.....
4) sentance correction...........basic eanglish grammar..........
be fast in reading.......thats all it matters..........
540 students were attended test.......146 cleared aptitude......... i was one among dose lucky guys.....i was very happy to clear it.......
next is HR interview.............no tech interview........
its a long hall.....he sat at d end.........i walked a long way to reach him.......
they asked me to stand aside until he call me.......
finally he called me.......
he is a old man wit arround 55 years.......looking calm and serious......
HR: Good afternoon....pls be seated
ME: Very good afternoon sir....thank u......
HR: Tell me about d test u attended before coming to interview?
ME: I told him about d test......
HR: Now tell me atleast one question from each paper?
ME: (i could remember que from resoning.....bt i dint remember from lengthy verbal).......i told him one reasonig que......In verbal i told him one que though it is not there in dat paper......but i told him confidently dat it was there........
HR: Good........
HR:Asked me to select one current topic and to talk on it for two min..
ME: Took 7wonders compitition spoke for 1 min......i was very nervoused........
HR: Ok.... he gave me one situation....and asked me how i l respond......
ME: This time i done well.......he is a bit satisfied......
HR: Gave me a puzzle.......THERE IS A SQUARE SHAPED SWIMMING POOL WITH 4 TREES AT D CORNERS. WE HAVE TO MAKE D AREA DOUBLE WITH OUT CUTTING TREES AND D RESULTANT POOL SHOULD ALSO BE IN SQUARE SHAPE .
ME: I know dis..already........ans is forming a rombus with trees at middle of sides.....
HR: ( he was surprised dat i solved it) he again gave me one more puzzle.......U HAVE 20 LITTERS CAN FUL OF MILK.....AND TWO 5,3 EMPTY JUGS. U HAVE TO MEASURE 4 LITTERS....
ME: I solved it..............
HR; ASKED ME ABOUT MY PAPER PRESENTATION.............
ME: I answerd well
and some small questons thats all...............try puzzles until he stops u............dont give up even if u dont know...............finally..............85 students were selected..........i was one among dose lucky guys..............i am very very very very ...................happy........
friends be cool and confident..........dont give up anywhere..we can do it........i am from telugu medium back ground.......i thougth it not possible.......but i made it......so nothing is impossible if v r confident.........
