The DGE, Tamil Nadu has released an official notification for the examination schedule for Classes 10th and 12th along with Class 11th Board Exams timetable which is going to be held for the first time in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 Examinations will commence from 1st of March, 2018 for the students studying in state board affiliated schools. Last year, Tamil Nadu witnessed an improvement in the performance of its students in Class 12th results. The overall pass percentage recorded a marginal increase to 92.1%, as compared to 91.4% in 2016. According to the Directorate of Examinations, 1,171 students scored over 1,180 out of 1,200 marks. The number of students scoring 100% marks was 3,656 in mathematics, as compared to 3,361 in 2016. A total of 8,301 scored 200/200 in commerce. The Directorate of Examinations had said that of the 8,93,262 students who took the exam, 8,22,838 have passed. The girls had performed better with a 94.5% pass percentage, as compared to 89.3% for the boys. Virudhnagar topped all the districts with a pass percentage of 97.85%.

It is noteworthy that over the years girls have outdone the boys, showing their academic interest and capability. As per the previous year data, the overall pass percentage in the Tamil Nadu Board 12th Result was handsomely at 92.1 per cent in which the contribution of girls was definitely higher than the boys. 94.5 per cent girl students were able to qualify the Tamil Nadu 12th Board, out of total candidates who appeared for the examination, whereas the pass percentage of the boys stood at 89.3 per cent.
