Job Description The Indus MAGIC project targets development of new ways of designing process equipment and their integration with process chemistry to realize atom efficient (creating less waste products per kg of desired product), environmentally benign and globally competitive processes. Under this program, catalysis, reaction engineering and new concepts in process equipment intensification will be used synergistically to provide effective and economic solutions which will catch up overtake global benchmarks in quality, cost, environmental impact (reduce carbon and water footprints) and safety. The components of modular, agile, intensified and continuous (MAGIC) chemical plant facility will be established during the course of this project. Attempt will be made to use wireless technologies to develop new ways of designing reconfigurable plants. An industry consortium on process intensification (Indus CPI) will be established to facilitate translation of the benefits of research and developments being made under the Indus MAGIC program to practice. A unique Indus Scholar program is planned which involves large number of chemical engineering and/or process chemistry students for sensitizing them to MAGIC concepts and to harness their capacity for carrying out techno-economic analysis of MAGIC processes
