Staff Selection CommissionSSC Rules & Regulations 1. The commission has the discretion to fix different minimum qualifying standards in the papers of the preliminary examination taking into consideration among others, category- wise vacancies.The combined preliminary examination is meant to serve as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the preliminary examination by the candidate who are declared qualified for admission to the main/written examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. only such candidates who are declared by the commission to have qualified in the preliminary examination in a year will be eligible for admission to the main examination(s) of that year provided they are otherwise eligible for admission to the main examination(s).
