GSS was incorporated in 1994 after Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co hived off its Electronic Business Equipment. The company was formed to provide software solutions and services to CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM and AEC vendors worldwide. The company is a 100% Export Oriented Unit and an industrial undertaking set up in the Software Technology Park.
GSS is highly specialized in developing engineering software solutions in Computer Aided Design/Manufacture/Engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE), Product Data Management (PDM) and the Architectural Engineering and Construction (AEC) segments. The Company is the world leader in Feature Recognition Technology in the CAD/CAM /CAE segment. The companys business framework can be segmented as follows:
Technologies - Technologies are off-the-shelf libraries and toolkits, which can be used by systems integrators to build end-user products for CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM applications. The technologies are normally licensed with a one-time fee for a royalty free licensee and an annual fee covering support and updates. A royalty based licensing option is also offered by the Company. The company sells these technologies either directly or through its partners.
Currently it has 5 development centers, out of which four are at Pune and one in Mumbai. The company,s marketing offices is headquartered at USA and also has plans to open offices in Germany and Japan.

Geometric software is primarily engaged in development of CAD/CAM/CAE solution and operates at higher end of market.
