The Integral University is a Premier University in the Capital of Uttar Pradesh which has been established under the Act number 9 of 2004 by the U. P. State Government. The famous Institute of Integral Technology, Lucknow has been elevated to a full fledged University. This is a historical event that within a span of 6 years, an Engineering College on account of its educational standard, value based education in a highly disciplined and decorous environment has been recognized all over the country with the result that it was elevated as a full-fledged University by the State Government.
The Indian Veterinary Research Institute Bareilly was establishment Dec 9 1889. The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) the first research laboratory of the country in veterinary and Animal Sciences is India’s pioneering Institute devoted to research and education at Master’s and Doctorate levels. The Univesity admitted 87 students for Masters Degree and 61 students for Doctoral Degree in 2006-07. The Institute is spread over an area of 307 hectares at Izatnagar Campus. It is situated at a distance of about 8 km. from Bareilly Jn. (BG) and 4 km. The first academic session as a Deemed University was held on January 15 1985. The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) was established in 1999, as a center of excellence in Information Technology and allied areas. The Institute thus became empowered to have a perpetual seal and award degrees subsequent to the conduct of its own examinations.

Avadh university which was rechristened as Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University in memoriam of late Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia an epic socio-economic ideologue and freedom fighter par excellence. The government of Uttar Pradesh exercising the powers enshrined in the U.P. University Act, 1973 section 4 (1-A) (b), by it's notification No. 4546/ 15-10-75 dated 25 July, 1975 established University as sheer an affiliating university. The university assumed the shape of residential University in the year 1984. In the ab initio the residential segment became functional with the opening of the four departments in the campus viz. history, Culture and Archaeology, Rural Economics, Mathematics and Statistics and Solid State Physics.
The foundation of Dr B. R. Ambedkar University (originally known as Agra University), was laid on the 1st of July, 1927, as a result of hectic efforts of a band of enthusiastic educationists like, Rev. Canon A.W.
