Crown Technical Systems, a leading manufacturer of Protective Relay Panels, Medium Voltage Switchgear and Metal Control Buildings for the Utility Power Industry, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer in our Fontana, CA facility.



Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering Team to support the growth of our Medium Voltage Switchgear business.



Position Requirements:

• Must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree or have a minimum of (5) years experience working as a Mechanical Engineer.

• Must be able to design Structural Steel Fabricated Parts, Sheet Metal Parts, and have a good design aptitude.

• Strong Auto-Cad experience is a must.

• Must have experience in one of the two below categories: o Medium Voltage Switchgear experience including Front Elevations, Section Views, Sheet Metal Design, Bus Design, and the ability to read a single line diagram.

o Control Building mechanical design including Plan Views, Wall Elevations, Structural Base Frame Drawing, and all Sheet Metal Part drawings.

• Experience and knowledge MS office programs.

• Must possess strong leadership and problem solving skills as well as solid planning, organizing, interpersonal and communications skills.

• Must be hands on with good analytical capability.

• Be able to multi-task.

• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

1. Project Management

a. Coordinate directly with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications.

b. Design product to meet or exceed customer spec requirements

c. Work with other departments

2. Design/Fabrication Drawings: Design and draw all fabrication and assembly drawings for Medium voltage Switchgear, control buildings and/or control panels.

a. Creating mechanical 2-D fabrication and assembly drawings. 3. Oversee assembly processes.

4. Material Order Requests

5. Work with Management on Areas of Improvement to standardize and increase production.

6. Bids & Proposals

7. Switchgear Product Development

8. Project Management

9. Production Interaction

10. Develop Bills of Materials and other drawings for projects on-hand.

11. Complete other tasks given by the Mechanical Engineer Manager or other members of Management.



Salary: Verifiable salary history required. Salary will be competitive and will be based on experience and background in the Engineering and Utility industry as defined above.
