Applications are invited within 21 days (on or before 20th January, 2012) from the date of publication of this advertisement for the post of Scientist-D (Reproductive Genetics) ( UR) in the Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100+ Rs. 7600 (Grade Pay) at the ICMR Genetic Research Centre, Mumbai. Applications are invited for one post of Scientist-D (Reproductive Genetics ) ( UR) in the Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100+Rs. 7600 (Grade Pay) within 21 days from the date of publication of this advertisement at the ICMR Genetic Research Centre, Mumbai. Essential Qualifications : (i) MBBS recognized by MCI or 1 st class Master degree in the relevant subject related to life sciences covering genetics or equivalent degree from a recognized University, or 2 nd class M.Sc. with Ph.D. degree in relevant subject from a recognized university. (ii) Eight years Research and Development (R&D) experience in the relevant area, in recognized Institute after obtaining essential qualification (i) out of which at least 2 years in a managerial position to handle R & D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity. Desirable Qualifications : (i) M.D. in Pediatrics or Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognized University or Doctorate degree in Medical Genetics or related science from a recognized University. (ii) Additional post-doctoral research experience in relevant subject, from a recognized Institute(s). (iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications. Job Requirements : (A) The candidate is expected to attend patients of genetic disorders, Identify genetic syndromes, perform common genetic tests and render genetic counseling, perform prenatal detection of birth defects suing sonography and laboratory methods. (B) He/she would also be responsible for leading projects involving research in the areas of genetics. (C) The candidate would be responsible for teaching genetics to medical students and research fellows. AGE : Not exceeding 45 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. However, the prescribed age may be relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced & qualified candidates. Application form duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent on the above mentioned address and should reach the Institute on or before the closing date along with attested copies of the certificates in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experience etc. and a crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) payable to the Director, NIRRH, Mumbai. SC/ST & physically handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the application fees payable in form of IPO. IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees. Incomplete/late applications or without postal orders will not be entertained. Application received after the closing date for whatever reason is liable to be rejected. Application with evidence for proof of age (SSC/HSC certificate), educational qualifications and supporting documents of experiences to be furnished for consideration. Unsigned/incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for/without postal order or application received late shall be summarily rejected.
