Systems Analyst- Linux

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary posts in the DBT funded project under CoE, Centre for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (CCBB) at School of Computational & Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Systems Analyst (Linux/ HPC system administrator profile) : 1 post (Consolidated Salary: Rs. 33000/- p.m.) Age limit : 35 years Essential Qualifications: a) B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology or MCA with graduation in science subjects/ computer applications. . b) Minimum 2 years full time relevant work experience in Linux system administration or High performance computing(HPC) under Linux environment. Solid knowledge and experience of Linux is a must. Desirable Qualifications: Experience and knowledge about parallel or distributed computing environments used for scientific computing, Experience with batch schedulers and queue optimization; Experience with high performance networking equipment and cabling requirements, system design, and implementation, Storage technologies such as SAN, SAS, FC, SATA, etc. Job Descriptions: Perform routine system administration tasks such as OS installation, patching, backups, upgrades and system restarts for HPC clusters, servers & workstations. Perform routine hardware and software installation as needed. Hardware and software troubleshooting/ co-ordination with other departments/vendors to make the clusters / servers run continuously, Maintaining software best practices for lab PCs of the School. This position may require flexible timings/weekend/holiday support and response to emergency situations to resolve problems. Higher salary may be considered for Higher qualifications and experienced person. Award of annual increment will be subjected to satisfactory performance.
