Department of Posts, Speed Post - Kolkata Recruitment of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants / PA 1. Applications in the prescribed format are called for from candidates for the posts of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants / PA (CO) in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200 – 20,200/- with the Grade Pay of Rs. 2400. 2. The age limit of the SC applicants will be 18 to 30 years & OBC candidates will be 18 to 28 years as on 11.01.2012 after relaxation as per GOI rules. 3. The minimum educational qualification is Higher Secondary or equivalent. 4. Prospectus containing eligibility conditions, recruitment procedure, prescribed application form and instructions thereof can be obtained from the -ed Post Offices as per list (Annexure-II), on payment of Rs. 25/- by cash at the concerned post office counter. 5. Name of the recruiting units as well as designation and address of the Recruiting authority to whom the application are to be addressed is furnished hereunder in Annexure – I showing inter – alia the number of vacancies in respect of each recruiting unit. 6. Application duly completed along with attested copies of the certificates should be submitted to the officer concerned on or before 11.01.2012 by Registered Post or Speed Post. Applications sent by other means will not be considered. Applications received after the due date will be rejected straight way and no correspondence will be entertained. 7. The cover containing the application should be superscribed in block letters as follows: - “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF SC/OBC POSTAL ASSISTANT / SORTING ASSISTANT IN UNDER SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE” 8. Vacancies are provisional and subject to change at the time of final -ion. 9. The aptitude test will be held on 05.02.2012
