The Company is seeking a Senior Analyst, to be primarily responsible for portfolio management of reinsurance contracts and to provide knowledge in the areas of catastrophe modeling, data quality and pricing for property catastrophe and specialty reinsurance business lines. This role involves close interaction with underwriters and other analysts and reports to the head of the Analyst Unit. Analyze the Company’s complex portfolio of reinsurance risks to accurately quantify their correlation and aggregation. Quantify expected profit and marginal risk distributions while identifying areas of concern and potential opportunity. Perform catastrophe modeling in RMS/EQE/AIR and analyze the data input and output through the use of internal and external software. Research and/or adjustment factors for data and models for poorly quantified or highly uncertain risks. Recomm changes and enhancements to modeling software and integrate into risk quantification and underwriting processes. Adjust for model parameter uncertainties in the determination of realworld exposure including current and potential coverage, terms and conditions. Ensure accuracy of internal and external portfolio tools and methodologies. Understand all components of the risk modeling process and model developments related to pricing, aggregation control and management of catastrophe risk. Maintain and improve accuracy and efficiency of work flow processes. Ad hoc projects, as required.
Candidate Profile
QUALIFICATIONS:
A university degree in the field of Engineering, Applied Sciences, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in the reinsurance industry in a similar role. Advanced degree in a related field, progress towards an actuarial designation, or the completion of an insurance/reinsurance qualification such as CCRA. Ability to manage internal and external relationships and to be able to work in a team environment. Strong computer ss with thorough knowledge of advanced catastrophe modeling and analytical software {RMS/EQE/AIR}. Experience creating tools in MS Excel, Access or SQL. Ability to perform advanced statistical, seismological, meteorological, and/or engineering analyses is an asset. Ability to query, search, manage, report, and analyze data in SQL Server. A strong work ethic, commitment to meeting deadlines and the ability to work on weeks and/or Public Holidays as required.
